Stokebury House in Amersham, has twelve purpose built flats, which are arranged to support people with different needs.
Each flat has its own shower/bath and toilet facilities, a full size kitchen and living area plus a separate bedroom. Residents have a tenancy agreement for their flats and are supported to apply for housing benefit to help with the cost of the rent.
The philosophy of the service is to support inclusion and independence. This is assessed on individual ability. Whether its maintaining their own tenancy and running a home or doing laundry and making meals; residents are encouraged and supported to fulfil their potential.
All residents are encouraged to get involved in the community and to develop and maintain relationships, friendships and contact with families.
Each resident is assigned their own link worker who they meet at regular intervals to discuss personal goals and progress. We aim to meet all the health needs of residents, including being flexible as they change over time.
The service is staffed 24 hours per day and one member of staff sleeps on site who is always contactable.
