Our long term supported living scheme in Oxleys Road consists of 20 self-contained flats and an office. There is also a communal lounge with space for residents to socialise together and hold their monthly coffee mornings. Our aim is to provide personalised support to people living in their own homes to help them meet their full potential. Staff support residents to research and attend day activities.
Residents develop a person centred plan with their link worker to meet their needs for daily living skills, leisure and daytime activities. Residents are also involved in the recruitment and selection of new staff and reviewing policies and procedures to help them feel empowered and involved in decision making at Oxleys Road.
Social interaction in the local community is actively encouraged and visitors are welcome.
All residents are registered with local GPs and have access to locally based community health services. Specialist health support can also be provided if necessary. Advocacy workers are encouraged and supported at Oxleys Road. Advocates are welcome to represent / support residents at their meetings if requested by the resident.
Each flat has its own front door and consists of a contemporary kitchen, a bathroom with an over bath shower and a single bedroom. Residents are encouraged to make their own flat their home.
Residents have a tenancy agreement for their flat and are supported to apply for housing benefit to help with the cost of their rent. Residents are also responsible for their own electric, gas and water bills.
