Staff at Blue Cedar Lodge provide personalised support to people living in their own homes to help them meet their full potential. Tenants have a tenancy agreement for their flats and are supported to apply for housing benefit to help with the cost of their rent.
Support is given to each person living in their own flat to enable them to develop independence skills, be involved in decisions regarding their life and participate in their local community.
All tenants have the option to be referred to local day-care facilities such as colleges, day centres and voluntary work. They are also made aware of drop-in centres in the area and supported to attend if they wish.
All tenants are registered with local GPs and have access to locally based community health services. Specialist health support can also be provided if necessary. Advocacy workers are encouraged and supported. Advocates are welcome to represent / support tenants at their meetings if requested by the tenant.
Each flat consists of a fitted kitchen, lounge, bathroom, storage room and a single bedroom. There is also a communal lounge and laundry room. Tenants are encouraged to bring their own belongings into the home wherever possible, providing they meet health and safety regulations as well as their own insurance.
Blue Cedar Lodge is within a five minute walk of Aylesbury town centre, providing easy access to all local facilities including shops, restaurants, banks, the Waterside Theatre and public transport links.
