Hightown Housing Association has taken the transfer of thirty care and support services from Radian Support with effect from July 1, 2016, as a result of the Radian Group’s decision to exit from specialist care and support services.

The services, which are in Buckinghamshire and Berkshire, provide support to more than 130 people with learning disabilities, autism and physical disabilities in supported housing projects and care homes.

Approximately 240 staff who work in the services have transferred to Hightown from Radian Support.

The transfer has increased Hightown’s care and supported housing activities by approximately 35%.

Most of the services are commissioned by Buckinghamshire County Council and Bracknell Council. The annual income from the contracts is approximately £7 million.

David Bogle, Hightown’s Chief Executive, said: ‘We are pleased to be able to extend our care and supported housing activities in this way. These services have been well run by Radian who will retain ownership of most of the accommodation. Our aim will be to maintain and, if possible, improve service standards to enable the service users to reach their full potential.’
