Freddie Davies, Building Safety & Compliance Assistant (Graduate 2021)

What was your background before you started your job at Hightown? Where did you study? What did you study?

Before working at Hightown I graduated from Leeds University in Politics. During my time at University I worked as a Healthcare assistant as well as for an MP.

What have you enjoyed most about your time as a graduate?

I've really enjoyed my time on the graduate scheme. The scheme is so varied with placements and managers offer great opportunities for you to pursue your own interests. I've been responsible for producing sustainability reports for Hightown, conducting my own research and providing costed solutions for the issues faced.

What have some of the challenges been in your graduate role?

The client facing side of some of the roles can be challenging, as understandably your work really impacts people's lives.

If you had to give one piece of advice to someone applying for a graduate role, what would it be?

Think about why you want this job and what you want to get out of it. Show that you're ambitious and passionate and you'll do great.

What is the biggest thing you have learnt/taken away from your time as a graduate?

Additional training is really encouraged on the scheme as a result I have gained useful project management qualifications.

If you had to choose three celebrities to be stuck in a lift with, who would it be?

Eddie Jones, Bill Bailey, Nelson Mandela.
