Residents have a tenancy agreement for their flat and are supported to apply for housing benefit to help with the cost of their rent. Residents are also responsible for their own electric, gas and water bills.
Residents develop a person centred plan with their link worker to meet their needs for daily living skills, jobs (full or part time depending on the resident), voluntary work, leisure and daytime activities.
Staff provide 24 hour cover and support. During the night there is always one member of staff in the building. There is emergency support from a manager who is available on call for advice at all times.
All tenants are registered with local GPs and have access to locally based community health services. Specialist health support can also be provided if necessary.
Advocacy workers are encouraged and supported at Printers Avenue. Advocates are welcome to represent / support tenants at their meetings if requested by the tenant.
Every resident has their own self-contained flat including a lounge/diner with double doors which open onto a private patio area, a fitted kitchen, white bathroom suite with an over bath shower plus a single or double bedroom. Residents are asked to furnish their own flats.
In the immediate area, there is a local supermarket, chemist and coach house doctors’ surgery. Within short walking distance are a launderette, hairdressers, fast food outlets, pubs, Watford Football Club and Watford General Hospital.
Printers Avenue is on one of the main bus routes in to Watford Town Centre, Watford Junction Station, Rickmansworth and Luton.
