Litslade Farm is fully accessible for wheelchair users and all residents are encouraged to be as active as possible around the home.
Residents are either not able to communicate verbally or have limited verbal communication skills and can display challenging behaviour, but we believe that this should not hinder their ability to express themselves. All residents are encouraged and supported to add personal touches to their rooms and get involved in the day-to-day running of the home. We encourage all residents to be involved in the community and develop and maintain relationships, friendships and contact with families.
All our residents are treated with the upmost dignity and respect and we are dedicated to providing quality personal care tailored to the needs of eachl resident. Staff are experienced in all aspects of personal care.
Litslade Farm is equipped with the most up-to-date facilities for administering care.
Everyone has their own bedroom but shares a kitchen, lounge, dining area, bathrooms, activity room, a large garden and laundry facilities. There is also a vegetable patch for those wishing to get more involved in gardening.
All residents can listen to music they enjoy in their rooms and have a TV in their room if they wish.
The home has its own vehicle, enabling staff to organise day trips based on the residents’ preferences. Residents are also supported to go away on holiday at least once a year to a location of their choice, funding permitting. All residents are fully supported 24 hours a day on these holidays and staff members complete a daily diary with each resident to record their memories and the activities they have enjoyed.
Residents are supported to develop leisure and daytime activities by using the local facilities such as churches, cinemas and leisure centres depending on their individual needs. One resident currently helps deliver the local parish magazine.
All residents are registered with a local GP and make use of the locally based community health services.
Litslade Farm has easy access to the village of Newton Longville which has pubs, a butcher, shops, a village hall and access to public transport. The nearest towns are Bletchley and Milton Keynes which are accessible by bus and have a wide range of amenities.
