Ben Moloney, a member of the Armed Forces for the past 11 years, has his foot on the property ladder in Aylesbury thanks to Hightown Housing Association’s shared ownership scheme.

It means Ben, aged 36, will be able to celebrate Armed Forces Day on Saturday 25th June with his wife and two young children in their new family home.

He said: “We would never have been able to afford to buy if it wasn’t for shared ownership. I found out about it after applying through the Forces Help to Buy Scheme. Luckily, once we started looking, it only took us a few weeks to find a place we loved.

“We were pleasantly surprised when we looked round – it was just what we were looking for. We’re also both originally from Aylesbury so know the area well.

Ben continued: “The Hightown sales team have been just brilliant and very patient with us – even when there was a delay in the process. Hightown’s maintenance team have also been quick to fix any issues we’ve had.”

Ben and his family recently moved into their three bedroom house on Carrick Street, which is conveniently close to the town centre and local amenities. The shared ownership scheme they used is an easy and affordable way to buy your own home by purchasing a share in a property and paying subsidised rent on the remaining share. Find out more at
