You may have seen on the news that there was a recent tower block fire in East London. Thankfully there were no casualties.
It is suspected that the fire started on a balcony. If you have a balcony, it is really important that you keep this clear of storage and never use it to have a BBQ.
To keep the fire escape routes safe:
- Fire doors must not be wedged open
If you see any doors wedged open, please immediately remove the obstruction.
- Rubbish bags and other items must not be stored in the communal corridors
Please also remind yourself and your family of the potential escape routes that you could take in an emergency.
The fire action notices in your building provide more information on what to do in the event of a fire.
