Hightown’s new development on Broadwater Road in Welwyn Garden City will provide 128 new homes, which will consist of 51 x 1 bedroom flats and 77 x 2 bedroom flats.
The scheme will be in keeping with the Garden City architectural style of other buildings in Welwyn Garden City (such as the Council Offices and John Lewis), with red brick and tall windows.
The plans include a central communal green space for customers to enjoy plus car, motorcycle and bicycle parking.
An Electric Heating System will be installed in all flats with a combination of Air Source Heat Pumps for hot water and electric radiators for heating designed to reach an EPC of B. In addition, 10 electric vehicle charging points will be provided.
The development is due to complete in December 2026.
The site was originally the UK head office for Roche Pharmaceuticals built in the 1970s.
