The new Residents Voice and Scrutiny Panel (RVSP), made up of 12 involved residents, has been meeting since April and has already commissioned an independent review into how Hightown deals with subletting and fraud.
The Panel want to know that we are doing all we can to ensure that the people we let homes to do not rent the property out to someone else. The review will be complete by next March.
The Panel have also:
- been involved in producing this year’s Annual Report to Residents, which is now available on our website.
- considered several bids from residents to fund improvements to communal areas; the projects that they agreed will be taken forward by the end of March.
- looked at all the different ways residents have been able to get involved with the work of Hightown over the last year - the impact residents have made and whether value for money is being achieved.
Could you join the Panel?
The Panel is looking for two new members who have a positive contribution to make to the work of the Panel and who can commit to daytime meetings every three months, with occasional trips to see Hightown’s developments.
The Panel are particularly keen to hear from residents below the age of 40 (an age group currently under-represented on the Panel).
To find out more about what’s involved and discuss what you could bring to the Panel to help with their work, please contact Vicky Stapleton on 01442 292 300. Panel members are appointed after an interview process.
