7 out of 10 tenants are satisfied with how we listen to their views.
But we can do better
To strengthen our residents' voices, a new Residents Voice and Scrutiny Panel (RVSP) will replace the existing Residents Panel from April 2017.
As well as their usual activities, the new Panel will:
- consider requests from residents for improvements to communal areas
- look at performance information of interest to residents
- consider Hightown’s resident involvement and community development activities and commission an in-depth review into an area of our service each year.

Final Residents Panel meeting
In January 2017, the Residents Panel reviewed the information Hightown provides to new tenants and made recommendations on how this might be improved. The Panel considered and unanimously supported the new Residents Voice and Scrutiny Panel. They were also treated to a well-deserved thank you lunch.
The Committee looked at Hightown’s policy on tenancy management and a review of items that might be left for the benefit of the next tenant when we relet a property. As a result, some changes have been made to our letting standard.
The Committee were also presented with the results showing how Hightown performs well compared with other similar housing associations and the 2016 general needs satisfaction survey.
