Waste and recycling with Hightown

Waste

Recycling and general waste

At Hightown, we are dedicated to supporting residents and councils in managing waste efficiently and responsibly on our estates. With the increasing need for recycling, stricter segregation of waste is necessary to minimise the amount sent to landfills.

Your local council arranges bin collections and requires all residents to separate waste correctly to facilitate recycling. It is your responsibility as residents to ensure waste is disposed of properly in the designated containers.  Contaminated bins will not be collected by the council, causing delays in waste removal and necessitating Hightown to hire independent contractors for decontamination.  This additional cost is shared by all residents on the estate.

Large Items / furniture

Large items or furniture should be taken to your local recycling centers as they cannot be disposed of in communal bins.  Some councils offer services to collect large items, but you need to verify and arrange this with them individually.  If you use the council’s services for item removal, please inform Hightown by contacting: property.servicesadmin@hightownha.org.uk

Dumping / Fly tipping

Dumping items and fly tipping are strictly prohibited on our estates.  Residents found responsible for these actions will be charged for removal costs.  If you notice any instances of fly-tipping or unauthorised waste disposal, please report them to our Property Services team via the email above.

Waste / Items in communal areas

It is a legal requirement to keep communal hallways clear of items at all times. In the event of a fire, these items could pose hazards and obstruct safe evacuation.  Our property services inspectors conduct regular estate inspections and will remove and store any items left in communal areas, with the removal and storage costs charged to the responsible resident.
