Gas Safety Week: Why Giving Access Could Save Lives

LET US IN – KEEP YOUR HOME SAFE (1)

With Gas Safety Week taking place from 14–20 September, we want to remind customers of something simple that could save your life — allowing access for your annual gas safety check.

Every year, we carry out gas servicing to make sure your appliances are safe and working properly. This is far more than a routine visit. It protects you, your family, and your neighbours from serious dangers including gas leaks, fires, and carbon monoxide poisoning — a silent killer that cannot be seen or smelled.

What to Expect

You will receive a letter around two months before your service is due, giving you plenty of time to arrange a convenient appointment. Please act on this letter promptly, as your check must be completed before your current gas safety certificate expires.

Why Access Matters

We understand that life gets busy, but it is vital that you allow access when contacted. If you do not, there are serious consequences:

- Your gas supply may be capped until the check is completed

- Allowing access is a condition of your tenancy agreement, which all tenants have signed

A Shared Responsibility

Gas safety is not just about your home — it is about your whole building and community. A fault in one property can put many others at risk. By opening your door for this appointment, you are playing your part in keeping everyone safe.

This Gas Safety Week, please remember: **one simple appointment can save lives.**
