If you have questions about the rent increase in April, check out our dedicated Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page for support and advice.
Receive Universal Credit?
On Monday 6 April (not before), log into your Universal Credit journal and fill in the "To-do" section with your new charges.
If you don't, you might not get paid the right amount after April, it won’t get backdated or your benefits could stop completely. You can't update your journal before Monday 6 April. So, please don't forget.
Receive Housing Benefit?
Once you have notified your Local Authority of your rent increase amount, they will re-calculate your housing benefit award and notify you of your new entitlement.
Hightown cannot automatically amend your direct debit if we don’t know your new benefit entitlement. Therefore, please contact us to amend your direct debit amount once you have been notified of your new housing benefit award by your Local Authority.
To amend your direct debit or to discuss your rent account, please contact us on 01442 292280.
