National Apprenticeship Week 2023

Silhouettes of people with different jobs

It's National Apprenticeship Week! This year's theme is 'Skills for Life' and that is exactly what an apprenticeship provides you with. Throughout the week we will be posting about some of our current apprentices and what they have done so far on our social media channels.

Hightown is committed to supporting staff in their develop of skills and knowledge, and to equip them with the tools needed to do their job effectively. Apprenticeships are a great option for development and progressing within your career.

The first apprenticeship programme started in 2018 and since then, we have supported 79 staff in eight different apprenticeship standards:

  • Level 2 Adult Care Worker
  • Level 2 Property Maintenance Operative
  • Level 3 Adult Care Worker
  • Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner
  • Level 5 Children, Young People and Families Manager
  • Level 5 Leader in Adult Care
  • Level 5 Human Resources Consultant
  • Level 7 Senior Leader Master's Degree

In 2022 we had nine apprentices finish their apprenticeships with seven achieving a Distinction and two achieving a Merit. A big well done to all those individuals!

We currently have 16 apprentices all making steady progress towards completing their qualifications and you'll be able to hear more about this throughout this week.

Take a look at the different apprenticeships available.
