Open Door has excellent facilities for homeless people, including 12 single en-suite bedrooms.
There is a drop-in service that runs Monday to Friday from 2:30pm – 4pm and offers support to anyone who is homeless including advice on housing and health issues. The communal areas offer access to computers to help people maintain or rebuild relationships, get back into longer term housing, education and employment.
The night shelter is supported by Hertfordshire Partnership Foundation Trust, Change Grow Live and Mind In Mid Herts who provide vital access to support with mental health and addictions. In conjunction with St Albans City and District Council, Open Door St Albans and Trinity Church, the service provides 10 extra bed spaces during extreme weather.
Open Door St Albans is a registered charity that supports the night shelter.
