    Shefford is a small market town in Bedfordshire 14 miles north of Luton, with a population of approximately 6,000.
    The name of the town is originally derived from Sheep’s Ford as the ford of two rivers run though the town which was once host to a popular sheep market.

    Shefford boasts a fantastic range of local amenities. There are 2 main supermarkets, a gym and various sports clubs and activities, cafe, restaurants and pubs, local doctor, dentist and optician, plus local pre-school, primary and secondary schools nearby.

    The town is also home to The Military Intelligence Museum and the Hoo Hill Maze. Rowney Warren is local woodland, set on undulating sandy ground split in two by a road which runs through the middle. On one side BMX and mountain biking are allowed along the steep clear pathways, and there are several marked routes with different degrees of difficulty.
