Buntingford is the smallest town in Hertfordshire and one of the most historic, with a wealth of Georgian and medieval buildings. Excellent access to the A10 has made Buntingford a desirable commuter town, offering a good selection of traditional and contemporary shops, a local supermarket, a regular Monday market and a wide range of cafes, restaurants and pubs. The town also has its own leisure centre, swimming pool and community centre with recreation and play areas. The nearby larger towns of Bishop’s Stortford and Stevenage offer a wider range of shopping and entertainment venues, including the Stevenage Leisure Park with multiscreen cinema and the Gordon Craig Theatre.
The county town of Hertford is 13 miles away, Bishop’s Stortford and Stevenage are both 11 miles away, with fast and frequent rail services into London Kings Cross from Stevenage station, in under 25 minutes and Liverpool Street from Bishop’s Stortford station approximately 45 minutes.
Buntingford has a three tier school system provided by Layston and Milfield First Schools, Edwinstree C of E Middle School and Freman College for Upper School and Sixth Form.
