We enable each resident to develop independence and relationships in an environment personalised to each individual. The caring and experienced staff team support residents to live happy, healthy lives in a safe place. Manor View is a bright, welcoming home which we aim to make as homely as possible, reflecting the preferences and styles of all the residents.
Staff provide 24 hour cover and support to the residents. During the night there are two members of staff on duty, one nurse and one waking night project worker. There is emergency support from a senior member of staff who is on call for advice at all times. Each resident has a link worker.
The home recognises each person as an individual and the right to dignity, respect, privacy, choice and personal space. Each person is encouraged to have a lifestyle of their choosing and support is provided to ensure they are able to take advantage of the experiences and opportunities available to all members of society. Each person is encouraged and supported to develop their own interests such as visiting the cinema and day centres.
The caring and highly-trained staff team offers a diverse range of experience and expertise. This includes the most up-to-date training in manual handling and the use of hoists, administering medication and providing intimate personal care.
As a nursing home, Manor View is able to meet the majority of healthcare needs of individuals. However, where people need specialist support the appropriate, extra resources will be called in. All residents are registered with a local GP and make use of locally based community health services.
Each person has their own bedroom and shares a kitchen, lounge, dining room, bathrooms, gardens and utility room. There is a staff office and a small front garden and a larger back garden.
Residents are encouraged to bring their own belongings into the home wherever possible, providing they meet Health and Safety requirements. The home has its own vehicle, and this enables staff to organise day trips based on the residents’ preferences.
Residents are also supported to go on day trips or on holiday, funding permitting. All residents are fully supported 24-hours a day on trips and holidays and staff members complete a daily diary with each resident to record their memories and the activities they enjoyed.
